In addition to maintaining good oral hygiene and seeing your dentist, you should monitor your gums for tenderness, redness and swelling. These are early signs of gum disease.
-Blows to the face during contact sports, exercise or recreation can result in knocked-out teeth. To keep this from happening, wear a mouthguard while you participate in high-contact sports and activities.
